First publication of The Alfie Roberts Institute launched!
The Paragraphe Librairie-Bookstore at 2220 McGill College was packed the evening of Friday June 17th, 2005 for the launch of the first publication of the Alfie Roberts Institute. At 6pm, the new publication, entitled "A View for Freedom: Alfie Roberts Speaks on the Caribbean, Cricket, Montreal, and C.L.R. James," was unveiled.
A View For Freedom: Alfie Roberts Speaks is based on an extensive interview with Alfie Roberts, conducted by David Austin in January 1995, over a year before Roberts passed away. It is Roberts’ testament on Caribbean and African history and politics, cricket, C.L.R. James, the Sir George Williams Affair, the turbulent 1960s, and Montreal.
